URGENT NEWS BULLETIN FOR ALL RRVA MEMBERS
Dear loyal RRVA Members,
It would be unprofessional of your RRVA directorship and Management Committee to promote panic regarding the scourge of crime in our suburbs and our country in general; however the fight against crime has long been the priority for the committee serving you, the members.
We are currently focusing on further improving and up-grading the anti-crime measures already in place and are also committed to new initiatives as detailed herein.
SECURITY ACTION TAKEN
RRVA has had numerous ‘robust’ meetings with SAPS; our ‘sister’ residents’ association ‘Welridge/RiverWel RA’; our current Security Service Provider ‘DCS/BESTSECURE’ , and two new Security Service Providers ‘URBAN THREAT MANAGEMENT’ and ‘COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES’.
Each of these partners in the fight against crime brings specific expertise and has accepted particular responsibilities subject to service level agreements which are regularly monitored.
- Our communication with SAPS is at first-hand level with prominent representation at SAPS Sector meetings, direct liaison / teamwork with SAPS Honeydew, and direct representation with Honeydew CPF management.
- DCS/BestSecure will continue to provide 24-hour armed patrolling / monitoring of our suburbs as a service to RRVA and will also continue as the recommended personal Security Service Provider for RRVA Members. Our new Service Level Agreement covers all aspects of Alarm Monitoring, very rapid Armed Reaction and efficient Technical Support.
- We have appointed Urban Threat Management to infiltrate the ground-level undesirable / criminal element in our suburb and, through relay of information to the appropriate authorities to eradicate the crime.
This appointment is considered a TEMPORARY SOLUTION and will expire at the end of September unless we can raise the necessary funds for continuation!
- We have appointed Community Support Services ( run by Greg Pearce; ex-SAPS and the tireless RRVA ‘Security’ portfolio manager who has attended so many of our crime scenes on behalf of RRVA ) under a comprehensive Service Level Agreement to provide extra vehicle patrols, intelligence-gathering, statistics, monitoring of security service effectiveness and post-crime-scene support for RRVA Members.
RRVA continues, amongst many other duties, to:
- Represent RRVA Members on Ward Committees 98 and 101 and petition assistance from Councillors.
- Provide a Municipal Service liaison / monitoring; reporting and recording sewerage leaks, vandalised street signs, road-marking and street-light deficiencies, illegal signage etc.
- Manage and maintain Hymany and Essenhout Parks and the rivers therein to ensure their security,
beauty and tranquillity.
- Maintain all RRVA-owned security fences (palisades) at the entrances/accesses to the parks and at the Randpark Drive / Beyers Naude pedestrian access.
RRVA Membership.
Over 50% of the 1170 private residencies in our suburbs Randpark Ridge Exts. 1, 3, 16, 41 and 45 are now RRVA Members. All the benefits provided by RRVA are thanks to this loyal support, and we urge you all to encourage non-members to join us in protecting and preserving our suburbs, our homes and our families!
THE CHALLENGE:
In order for RRVA to sustain its wonderful service to its members, we MUST increase our revenue. It has been determined necessary therefore to request an average membership increase of R100 per month.
Many thanks go to all who responded positively to our survey emailed in April this year for the proposed increase.
RRVA Memberships will increase from 1 September 2010 by R 100.00/ m
For those Members that cannot afford this increase, any additional contribution above that which you are already making would be highly valued in our efforts to sustain and grow our current operations, the most important of all being the protection and welfare of all RRVA Members!
Would any such members please notify Julia of your intended contribution increases via email
( finance@rrva.net ) or by telephone ( 011 791 0606 ). Please remember that Julia will need your surname and address on your communication!
IN CLOSING:
The World cup soccer is over and becomes a great memory, now we focus again on our everyday lives.
As we move into the future we have every confidence that RRVA will continue to provide unparalleled services and benefits to its Members; we shall continue our utmost efforts in the fight against crime, and with YOUR help and loyalty we remain committed to ‘A better, safer life in a great place to live!’
Thanking all our Members for our successes past, present and future,
From the Directors of the RRVA,
