This weekend, the 5th and 6th of March, will see the Election Registration tent return to the greenbelt area on Seder Road in Randpark Ridge – if you haven’t already registered to vote in the upcoming Municipal Elections, pop past the tent this weekend and register… Its our country, lets make our votes count!!

Be Cautious About Giving Info to Census Workers by Susan Johnson
With the South African. Census process beginning, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) advises people to be cooperative, but cautious, so as not to become a victim of fraud or identity theft. The first phase of the 2010 Census is under way as workers have begun verifying the addresses of households across the country. Eventually, more than 140,000 Census workers will count every person in the South Africa and will gather information about every person living at each address including name, age, gender, race, and other relevant data.
The big question is – how do you tell the difference between a Census worker and a con artist? BBB offers the following advice:

The Honeydew Community Police Forum in conjunction with the Honeydew SAPS will be holding a Public Meeting on Saturday 23rd October 2010, at 09h00 at the Rhema Church (cnr Hans Schoeman and Rabie St, Randpark Ridge). Major General O.D. Reddy (Cluster 9 Commander) will be the guest speaker at this meeting. All residents who reside within the HONEYDEW PRECINCT are welcome to attend.

Eskom has requested another total isolation at Randburg substation to complete the upgrade. It will affect same areas as it did on Sunday, 22 August 2010 and Sunday, 19 September 2010. Please inform all residents in the below mentioned suburbs.
(Note: If power to your property returns but then trips again, please be patient If you were affected on 22 Aug and 19 Sept, you will be affected on 10 October.

The theft of motor vehicles in the Honeydew Precinct is on the increase. We are experiencing an increase of vehicle theft and theft out of motor vehicles especially if these vehicles are not secured and parked inside properties in locked garages or carports. Vehicles left parked on pavements and verges are at extreme risk. Criminals are targeting older vehicles as well as newer Polo, Golf, Hyundai H100 & Toyota Hilux twin cabs. Please be alert to the above and stay safe.
