Good News, RRVA News|

Dear Members, It is been almost five months since we held our RRVA AGM on 29 November 2018, and it has been a busy and productive time!

The RRVA Board held its inaugural meeting shortly after the AGM, on 6 December 2018, and immediately set to work assigning each director a portfolio of responsibility.

The overarching immediate project the Board set itself was to completely overhaul our corporate governance documentation in accord with the new Companies Act and King IV, so that the RRVA is legal, transparent and fully accountable to you, our valued members.

We started the process with our existing Articles of Association (which is no longer compliant with current legislation) and this has extended to the incorporation and inclusion of at least nine other documents required by King IV. This process has proven rather challenging and time consuming, but I am pleased to report that we have made much progress. We still have a lot more work to do, to ensure that we are fully compliant.

In April, Phil Culham, our past Chairperson, resigned, both in his capacity as director and as an employee/consultant area manager.  We wish Phil every success in his retirement and future endeavours.

Wayne Kets has taken over this position and our environment employees (Evison, Ronnie and Max) now report to Wayne directly. The recent overhaul of the green belt and the painting of road names, fences and transformer boxes etc. is thanks to Wayne and his team. We appreciate and value their ongoing commitment in our community.

The names and portfolios of the current directors are as follows:

  • Rod Rankine (Chair)
  • Eleen Du Boisson (Treasurer)
  • Tanja Schmitz (Web and Communications)
  • Juan Koch (Director of Security)
  • Wayne Kets (Vice Chair & Director of Parks and Maintenance)
  • Clive Granville (Legal Advisor and other matters)

We are excited about where our resident association is headed. We have much going on, and in planning, re security, maintenance and overall community well being, and we thank you for your ongoing support. We are keen for more residents to join us, please share the word about our proactive and dedicated resident association.

We hope to see you at our AGM at 7pm on 16 May, at Randpark Primary School.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards,
Rod Rankine,
Chairman
RRVA Board
